Now You See Us
Now You See Us is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to celebrating and empowering Asian identities through intimate gathers and deeper conversations. They host events and educational workshops focused on breaking down harmful stereotypes, reclaiming & redefining dynamic cultural identities, and unapologetically celebrating the modern Asian diaspora.
Social Media Rebranding
My process for rebranding was based off of NYSU’s past events, past posting and the founders of the non-profit. Getting a better understanding of who they are and their NYSU members helps me create their identity that is memorable and unique to all through typography, color, and design. Using their past event imagery, I created a mock-up of what a text template would look like in combination with photos to help create a dynamic flow within the organization’s instagram channel. The style guide is now live on the NYSU instagram and looks as follows.
Event Design
My first project with NYSU was an event celebrating Lunar New Year. I was given words and feelings to help guide with the intention of what this event has to offer. My tasks were to create the overall social design to then translate it over to physical assets that would be printed and used in the event itself. These printed assets included name cards, a double-sided menu that had conversation prompts, and the bar menu.
Because this was NYSU’s first event of 2023 and the jumpstart to having me as their Art Director and Designer, I had the honor of creating their first ever banner that will now be used throughout all events to help identify and establish Now You See Us as the event organizers.
